Kntitted Tea Cosy

This is one of my new favourite patterns. It is quick to knit and makes an attractive setting for tea. I am always looking for patterns with a new stitch to learn. I learned how to make cable stitches with this one and they are much easier than I thought. The pattern for this tea cosy is available at: www.fibertrends.com
Got to go....it's time for tea (-:

tangerine snuggle

Welcome to my new blog all about the two things I love to do in my spare time: playing with my two grandchildren and knitting. I thought it might be fun to combine the two into a blog to share. I hope to inlcude a review of activities that are fun to do with little ones and take a look at patterns that are easy, fun, practical and oh so cute.
I am starting off with one of my favourite patterns. It is modeled in the picture by my grandaughter Maggie. It is a pattern that I downloaded for free on Lion Brand Yarn. The pattern is called "Comfy Hooded Cover Up". The recommended yarn is Terryspun yarn which is no longer available. I used Lion Boucle and it worked perfectly with this pattern. It is ever so easy and fast to work up. A great pattern for a beginner with just a few projects off the needles. The Boucle yarn comes in a variety of fun colours...this one was done in tangerine and has definately caught the eye of many people - or maybe it was just the charming smile and kissable cheeks of my granddaughter?
